CVQ Awards 2010

Technical and Vocational Education & Training (TVET) in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis received another boost forward with the approval by CXC of the Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ), for twenty-one (21) students from two of our Secondary Schools. We applaud sixteen (16) students of the Washington Archibald High School in the Food and Beverage Services and five (5) students of the Cayon High School, in the Secretarial Skills, as having successfully completed all of the required Modules and Units.

These were completed in accordance with the Occupational Standards which were procured by the Ministry of Education to further define the transition from School to the world of work.

The significance of this development cannot be over-emphasised, as it prepares students in all of our secondary schools with the skills, knowledge and the appropriate attitudes required for eventual entry to the world of work. Also, this will eventually be made available to all persons, firstly, at the level’s one, then other levels of the construct.

In consideration of the above, we would like to congratulate all of the trained assessors, Internal and External Verifiers for the support and guidance provided, to assist with the development of competencies in various Occupational Areas.
