In 1999, the Government of St. Christopher (St. Kitts) and Nevis established the St. Kitts and Nevis Accreditation Board (SKNAB), as the quality assurance body of the tertiary-level education system. The SKNAB monitors, registers, and certifies institutions of tertiary-level education. Cognizant that higher education acts as a gateway to advancement, socially as well as professionally, the Board is tasked with ensuring that institutions of higher education located within the Federation perform to the highest standard. Since its establishment, the Board has accredited several institutions that offer a variety of quality academic programmes to students in St. Kitts and Nevis.
